Onward to Adventure

It was only a few short years ago, when are civilization was destroyed by war and natural disasters. Since then we have worked hard to build a new world. So, today, when world came that new lands had been discovered, I was hesitant

I'd lost everything in the war. I sacrificed my home to protect the King and Queen as we made a last stand holding back the hordes, until their ship had made it over the horizon. Those of us who escaped on that last ship watched as everything we'd accomplished in our lives, was burned to the ground.

We were lucky to find this new continent to rebuild our community. How could I even think about leaving it all behind again to start anew in some strange land?

But then again....this time it would be different. Before, we held out hope of saving our world. But in the end we were forced to flee into the ocean. This time we could prepare. This time we could plane our escape. This time it is our choice.

It will be a lot of work but I think its worth the risk. Onward to adventure.

Today, word came form the King that I was to lead an expedition to the new lands to survey and layout Outposts.

I must leave my packing to my trusted servants and head out withing the week.

Our King has requested I find a suitable place to build his castle so it is centrally located. He also wants out posts on the outer rim of these new lands for protection and to serve the population as trading hubs. Other nobles have also asked me to survey for them. In all there will be eight territories that will eventually turn into cities.

I see great thing coming in this new land. God save the King and Queen

It was a long arduous journey but the survey team has made it to the new lands. There will be a lot of work to do before the rest of the Kingdom can join us here. Geological surveys continue as we catalog the animals and plants.

There are new animal species I've never seen before as well as plants that could prove useful.

Hopes are that there will be no major concerns and we can send word back to our homeland.

Each day is better than the last.

It has been a while since I've made a journal entry. The days are long and the work is hard. The weather has not been cooperating so it is going very slow. New challenges pop up daily but we take them one at a time and try to tame them.

Word has come from the old lands that the population is ready for the new journey. I fear we may not be ready in time and may need to delay the caravans.

Another storm front will be here by morning so we loose another day. That will not deter me or my crew.

We will have these new lands, it will just take longer.

It has been some time since we were able to continue work on the new lands. Unknown to us, the land we were preparing was owned by a nearby regent. Until we can sort out the permissions, no progress can be made.

Word has also come that 3 of the 4 main supply wagons have been destroyed. That will set us back even further.

Alas, we refuse to let it derail our efforts.

We received word that the wagons have been repaired but all supplies were lost, at least we sill have he wagons.

News is bleak but hope is still alive. The new land has proven to be a challenge. We have also been hit with a great sickness that threatens to end our journey.

Civil unrest has also been an issue.

Despite everything, I have made a promise to my King and I will complete my task.

There are still a few who will follow me into this new land and they have given me their oath to complete this task, no matter the cost.

Onward to adventure.
